Gretchen Towner Lewis is a retired community college instructor living in Manhattan, Kansas. I am the mother of two grown children and one beautiful grandchild. My husband Jim and I came to Kansas with our family in 1990 after spending four years teaching English in Japan, and thirteen years in Boulder, Colorado. My husband retired from being the head of international recruiting and admissions at Kansas State University, and I retired from teaching courses for soldiers at near-by Fort Riley; I taught a course designed to help soldiers raise their scores on the military ASVAB test, and Introduction to Music. In my retirement, I direct a church choir and travel to visit my 97 year old father in Sunnyvale, as well as my children in Los Angeles and Denver, Colorado.
